Mr. Goldberg laid the foundation for what would become one of the premier companies in the field of numismatic rarities. Obtained the Highest Price for a U. S. Proof Set at Auction: Superior sold the King of Siam Set for over $3.1 million. Bought and Sold the Connoisseur Collection: Superior both bought and sold the collection for over $2.5 million, which was the highest per lot auction ever held at that time. Highest Price for a U. S. Territorial Collection: Superior bought and sold the Clifford Kagin collection for more than $3 million. Highest Price for a Pattern Proof Set: Superior sold the Amazonian Gold Set for more than $1.8 million (at the time, the second highest price ever realized for U. S.
